John Mainstone was born on July 15, 1928 in Clifton, Bristol. Son to Arthur and Winifred Mainstone, half brother to Daisy. He spent many happy times growing up with his dearly loved Aunties Ann, Mag and Phyl.

John became an engineer, a career he loved. He was very well respected in his field and designed and built the 'Mainflow' an automatic dispensing system primarily for the purpose of the accurate, clean and safe mixing of highly flammable printing inks. He project managed many installations of his system across the country.

He married Maureen in 1957 and they had a daughter Julie.

He enjoyed making, building, designing and constructing absolutely anything and was frustrated by his many health issues, including Dementia, in later years which prevented him from continuing his lifetime's passion for all things engineering. 

He will be greatly missed by his daughter Julie although the peaceful end to his days was a relief from the suffering and frustration of the past few years as his condition deteriorated.

Reunited with Maureen and 3 beloved dogs Freddie, Bonnie and Sally.
